Hon. Ethan Uzamere, the Edo State Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, yesterday led an extensive inspection of various ongoing road projects in Edo State, interfacing with contractors and engineers during the inspection. The inspection was aimed at assessing the progress and quality of work being carried out on the state's road projects.

During the inspection, Uzamere visited 19th Street and 18th Street in Ugbowo axis; Ohonre Street off Adolor College Road, Palm Road, Uwelu Power Line, Evbuotubu Power Line, and concluded the inspection at Upper Ekehuan Road.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after,  Uzamere emphasized the importance of timely completion, urging all contractors to ensure speedy execution. He stressed that adhering to the timelines is crucial to minimizing the inconvenience to residents and maximize the benefits of the road projects.

According to him,  "The purpose of my visit today is to ensure that the contractors are on site and to assess the level of work being done. Governor Godwin Obaseki has directed that all roads in Edo State must be in good shape to ensure that Edo people are unhindered in their movements."

"As the dry season approaches, we are urging all contractors to return to work on sites that were put on hold and roads that were severely affected by the rainy season, such as erosion and waterlogging. This is in order to find long-lasting solutions to these issues and ensure the roads are in good condition."

"I have interacted with the contractors and they have assured that the projects will be delivered on schedule. Inspections like this are important to ensure that quality construction are done by the contractors and engineers. In Edo, we ensure the best and nothing but the best."

Furthermore, Uzamere reassured that Governor Godwin Obaseki's administration remains committed to constructing roads that significantly enhance the quality of life for the people of Edo State and would stop at nothing to ensure that Edo people enjoy the dividends of democracy. He emphasized that Governor Obaseki has already implemented measures to ensure that all roads in the state are constructed using the best standard. Uzamere was accompanied by Engr. John Obanor, Director of Construction, Ministry of Roads and Bridges; as well as other engineers and surveyors of the Ministry.
