Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia Flags-off Egor PDP Campaign Ahead of Edo Council Polls, as Teeming Supporters Flood Streets of Egor in Support of Her Candidacy

Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia, the Egor PDP Chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming Edo State Local Government Elections, successfully kicked off her campaign activities with a flag-off event and rally held yesterday in Egor. The event drew a massive crowd of enthusiastic supporters who demonstrated widespread support for her candidacy by participating in a roadshow from the PDP Secretariat in Uselu to Edaiken Market.

They were led by the flagbearer herself, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia, and the PDP Chairman in Egor, Chief Manfred Ekundayo Idehen, as well as other party leaders and executives.

Addressing the people of Egor at Uselu market, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia outlined her plans to improve the lives of Egor residents. She emphasized her commitment to addressing key issues such as healthcare, education, security, and support for businesses. She promised to complete the Egor cottage hospital and beautify the markets in Egor by ensuring cleanliness of the markets and public spaces. She also highlighted her numerous achievements, which garnered applause from the residents.

"When I finished my tenure, the party Chairman gave me the name 'Madam Projects.' It was because I fulfilled my promises that I was given that name. I urge you all to support me in this election as I am known to always fulfill every promise I make to my constituents. I plan to finish all the projects I couldn't complete in my first term. I will complete the Egor cottage hospital in ward 4 in my second term, as construction work was stopped due to shortfalls in revenue caused by Covid-19. The hospital will have a theater, maternity ward, and doctors' quarters. Doctors will be available 24 hours to treat Egor residents," she said.

She continued, "I listened to the concerns of the people by building conveniences in all markets in Egor. Today, women and visitors no longer have to urinate in cellophane. Tell your friends and family that Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia is tested and trusted, and the PDP is the party to vote for. As you vote for me, also vote for all the councillors, as they will work with me to create laws that will make Egor a better place."

"I introduced Lollipop Traffic Control to help our school children safely cross the road. I also built, rehabilitated and furnished schools in the local government. I want to do more by introducing a sickbay in all schools to ensure that our school children receive first aid to save their lives."

"I promise to rebrand the security network by ensuring that every street and community have vigilantes to protect lives and property. In my first term, I strengthened security by purchasing vehicles and providing regular stipends to vigilantes. I promise to do more by collaborating with landlords and traditional rulers to ensure a safer Egor. In the area of hygiene, you all know I hate dirt and unkempt places. I will also ensure that Egor local government is kept very clean because when Egor is clean, sickness will be far from us," she added.

Earlier, Chief Manfred Ekundayo Idehen urged Egor residents to support Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia's Mandate of Hope agenda as it is guaranteed to bring development to the people of Egor.

The overwhelming support demonstrated at the flag-off event further solidifies Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia's position as a frontrunner in the race for the chairmanship position. Her clear-cut agenda as outlined in her campaign manifesto tagged 'The Mandate of Hope' has resonated with the people, giving them hope for a brighter future under her leadership.
