In line with the mantra of grassroots-driven leadership, Edo-born and Egor-bred philanthropist, Hon. Osagie Osifo has assembled constituents to a celebration in honor of Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki who turned 66 on July 1st. In the same vein, he embarked on distribution of bags of rice, oil and other food items to residents to mark the special occasion.
Remarking on the occasion, Osagie said the developmental strides of Governor Godwin Obaseki in all areas of governance especially in infrastructure, energy and social-political reforms are beneficial to all people and thus his birthday represents an opportunity to show appreciation and encourage him.
According to him, "Governor Obaseki is a great father to all Edo people and he serves as beacon of uprightness, prudence and selflessness. His positive touch is evident in all areas and in Egor he has carried out several projects to uplift the lives of the residents. Our people are thankful and that is why you see the crowd of well-wishers who came to wish him a happy birthday."
Despite not currently running for any political office, Osifo has made it a point of duty to put smiles on the faces of Edo people, as he also regularly donates several food items in celebration of special days including Christmas and New Year.
The event was attended by political stalwarts in Egor, councillorship candidates, children, women and youths, amongst others
The recipients of the food items including women-groups, youths, amongst others were thankful to Osagie Osifo for the gesture. They also prayed for strength for Governor Obaseki and wished him many more happy returns.
