The Board of Trustees, Council and Members of Esan Descendants Assembly have expressed their condolences to HRM Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II on the demise of his mother, Queen Mary Ebaide
Akhimien 11, the Queen Mother
of Ekpoma Kingdom.

The queen mother passed away at the age of 76.

In a statement made available to newsmen, the organization described the Queen mother as a mother of all and a rallying point for all Esan descendants. They added that she was a mother of immense wisdom.

The statement read: "Indeed, the late Queen Mother was a mother of inestimable value, strategic in the affairs of Ekpoma Kingdom, as she was not only a mother to our dear Onojie but also the entire Ekpoma Kingdom. While praying for the repose of her soul, they prayed for God to grant her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

According to the group, "May the almighty God overlook her weaknesses and grant her eternal rest, as well as grant those she left behind the fortitude to bear the loss."
