Shaibu urges teachers on keeping fit as he formally declares closed a 10-day training exercise for teachers

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu has formally declared closed a 10-day training exercise organised by Edo BEST for 1, 331 Teachers in the state.

Speaking, Shaibu said, "In my rain-soaked appearance at the closing ceremony, I took out time to inspect the teachers and have them demonstrate what they have been taught in the last 10 days, an exercise I lauded for professionalism."

He continued: "I admonished them to remain committed to their profession and exhibit it in good light. I emphatically reminded them that the main objective of the government is beyond employing and training teachers in line with the modern educational system but to see the impact on the academic performance of our children in Edo."

He added that an additional 32,000 children will be part of Edo schools stressing that they now know how important they are. He also assured them that the government will always ensure their welfare remain a priority.

Shaibu reminded them of the importance of keeping fit and encouraged them to add physical training and sports to all they do because that will make them sounder in minds and actions.

Shaibu buttressed that, "We are now advancing and improving in terms of capacity and we have increased the number of teachers we have engaged and we are still engaging," noting that "we have broadened our horizons and we are now domesticating how our future education should be shaped."
