NOCSON Congratulates Austin Osakue On His Emergence As President, African Forum For Advocacy And Citizen Engagement

The Network of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (NOCSON), Edo State, has congratulated Comrade Austin Osakue as he emerged President, African Forum For Advocacy And Citizen Engagement in Kingali, Rwanda.

Comrade Osakue who emerged the first Nigeria to be elected as President of the Forum defeated four other contestants from Ghana, Kenya, Morocco and Malawi.

In a congratulatory message issued and signed by Comrade Ogbidi Emmanuel and Comrade Bevy Efe, President and Director of Media and Publicity of NOCSON respectively, said the Movement saw this long ago as a result of his uncommon impart in the Civil Society community in Edo State and Nigeria, and nicked named him ‘Living Legend’ of the Civil Movement.

Part of the statement reads, “Today our expectations has crystalized into reality following your emergence as the first Nigerian to be elected, President of the African Forum for Advocacy and Citizen Engagement in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of four other contestants from Ghana, Kenya, Morocco and Malawi.

“As one of the founding fathers of the Network of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (NOCSON) and Executive Director, Foundation for Good Governance and Social Change, (FGGSC), you have distinguished yourself in advancing the rights of the people, proffering solutions to complex societal issues, promoting good governance and accountability as well as imparting the younger generation with values and moral to fit into the leadership space and compete favourably in the global arena.

“Your leadership disposition, competence, charisma and character displayed over the years in service to humanity has left us with no doubt, that you will deliver exceptionally in this new assignment as President, AFACE.

“While the leadership and entire members of NOCSON heartily congratulates you on your well-deserved victory as President AFACE, be assure the full support of the Network in all ramifications all through your tenure.

“Congratulations, the ‘Living Legend’ of the civil Movement.”
