Edo State government has launched a  Quick Response e-sticker app for commercial vehicles verification to checkmate insecurity and impersonation in the State.

The launch was done by Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon. Philip Shaibu at the newly built Benin Central Park.

Speaking, Shaibu said, "In our quest to further strengthen, and improve the transportation system in Edo State and stem the activities of criminals and touts, I today launched the Quick Response (QR) e-Sticker for Commercial Vehicles Verification Application (app) for commercial vehicles."

"I assured the commercial vehicle drivers and road workers of the reliability of the platform which will allow the state ministry of the transport agency, field officers or law enforcement agencies to verify the details of every commercial vehicle in the State without stress."

According to him the innovation is from the Edo State Government and is a user-friendly interface that will detect every piece of information on stickers generated by users and individuals respectively.

He continued: "I told them that they have no course for worries as much as they have their vehicle information registered with the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), the Edo State Transport Agency sticker will be generated meaning that a field officer only needs to have the e-sticker QR Code reader, which will decode the registration information of the commercial vehicles."

"To further highlight the importance of the Quick Response e-Sticker innovation, I assured them that their safety and that of their passengers are more important to us.
I informed them as well that soonest, we will have discussions with the union on how to make things better for you and enable the effectiveness of the new transport system we are going to introduce."

He praised them for their maturity and diligence in driving and following traffic rules - a phenomenon that has seen a massive reduction in road accidents in the state. The app is downloadable and easy to install from the Google play store or App store.
