BREAKING: 5 Suspected Kidnappers Shot Dead After Abducting A Resident At Akoko Edo, Residents Hail Governor Obaseki


Five men suspected to be kidnappers have been shot dead in Edo State.

The suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, were shot dead on Sunday in a forest in Ughoshi-Afe, Akoko local government, by the Edo State Police Command.

The kidnappers met their waterloo after they abducted Mr Innocent Sunday, forcing the local vigilante and police officers to comb the bush to rescue him.



Standard Gazette gathered that the rescuers had an encounter leading to a gun exchange.


Five of the suspected kidnappers were killed while Mr Innocent was rescued unhurt, Standard Gazette learned.

Police recovered two locally made pistols, charms and live cartridges at the scene.

Edo state Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, again assured that hard times await kidnappers, armed Robbers and other perpetrators of heinous criminal activities in Edo state

Meanwhile a cross-section of Edo residents have praised the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki for the improved security in the State as well as the timely action to arrest perpetrators of such henious crimes.
