EXCLUSIVE: Edo govt reverts GSTC to its former name

ikosamede.com can exclusively report that the Edo State government has reverted the Government Science and Technical College, GSTC Benin City to its former name, Benin Technical College, BTC.

This was made known to ikosamede.com by a source privy to the decision. It was gathered by our reporters that the decision was due to a request to Governor Godwin Obaseki by the old students association of Benin Technical College for a change of name back to the old name by which the college was known. The request was graciously granted by the people-oriented administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Recall that in the past 6 years, the government of His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki, the Executive Governor of Edo State has implemented targeted reforms in the college to ensure the school regains its lost glory.

A visit by our reporters to the college recently indicate the presence of a newly constructed 1.2km road leading to the college, well furnished classrooms, a computer library, state-of-the-art technical installations and learning equipments in demonstration rooms to aid the learning of the students.

We at ikosamede.com can confirm that Governor Godwin Obaseki has never relented in matching words with action in repositioning the education sector in the State.
