Shaibu identifies innovation, diligence as key to improvement in civil service performance



In an annual event sponsored by the Edo State Acting Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu and organised independently by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, recognizes outstanding civil servants in the course of the year under review. 

For the year ended 2020, 3 honorees, Miss Akem Precious, Accountant 1, GL 08, Mrs Daniel Helen O. Tourism Officer, GL 08, Mrs Igbinogun Magdalene, Chief Clerical Officer GL 06 were recognised for their outstanding performances. They were selected from three different departments. Some of the criteria used are punctuality, Efficiency, Innovation, Human Relations, Outstanding Government Service and Public Service in the office of the Deputy Governor.

Similarly, in the 2021, Mr Enabulele Kenneth, GL04, Mr Osareniye Victor, Works Suprintendent GL08 and Mrs Uwaifo Ganiyatu, Administrative Officer 1 GL09 were selected. Mrs Uwaifo emerged the overall best staffer for the two years under review. 

The Edo State Acting Governor, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, in his remarks congratulated the awardees. He acknowledged their outstanding performances and immense contributions in the course of discharging their duties, adding that, "Mrs uwaifo, no doubt stood out because of her efficiency, excellent knowledge and foresightedness in carrying out her responsibilities as an Administrative Officer".

"You must all continue with your diligence and improve on your overall performances that made you stand out. No doubt, This award is a wake up call to others to bring out the best in you. You must continue to put in your best as a team to achieve the set target of this office", Shaibu admonished.

 He said their honour was a challenge to others, adding "you should all strive to be recognised".
