Uzamere receives NSCDC Commandant, strengthens partnership to curb fuel adulteration in Edo


The Edo State Commissioner for Mining, Oil and Gas, Hon. Ethan Uzamere has reiterated government's determination to partner security agencies to ensure security of lives and properties in the state.

The Honorable Commissioner made this known while receiving the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Dan Oko who was on a familiarization visit to the ministry to seek partnership to improve security in the state.

Uzamere stated the ministry's readiness to continue to monitor the activities of petroleum marketers in the State in order to ensure the safety of consumers of petroleum products.

Uzamere said that the ministry collaborated with NSCDC to curb fuel adulteration and scarcity at a time in the state and commended the agency for their professionalism.

He also stressed that the partnership should be maintained to ensure the safety of Edo residents adding that monitoring of activities related to petroleum usage should be heightened.

The new Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo Command, Mr. Dan Oko, assumed office in Benin in April, 2022.

Oko, until his posting to Edo, was the Commandant of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the corps at the National Headquarters, Abuja.
