Edo Commissioner for Mining, Oil and Gas, Uzamere attends Dubri empowerment program, reels govt efforts in providing jobs




 


The Edo State Honorable Commissioner for Mining Oil and Gas, Hon. Ethan Uzamere has lauded the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration in the areas of job creation for the teeming youth in Edo State.

The Commissioner made this known when he gave a keynote address at the Dubri Oil Company Limited Community Economic Empowerment program held in Benin city, Edo state.

In his address, the Commissioner extolled the oil company for the empowerment programs in the community. He stated that it was a great way of giving back and promoting harmony in the community.

He said: "Empowerment of this nature is profitable, not just in the short term but also in the long term because it provide means of livelihood for the beneficiaries. It also serves to improve on natural and human security since restiveness is primarily borne out of idleness and the yearnings of underserved communities."

In closing, he applauded the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration in creating jobs opportunities for over 300,000 people in Edo state, reeling data especially in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), entrepreneurship and Artisanship for both male and female in the past 6 years.
