Governor Obaseki's proactive security efforts praised as JTF flush Kidnappers, Bandits, Criminals out of Edo forests

On June 5th, 2022, a Joint Task Force consisting of the Nigerian Army, the Police, NSCDC, the Edo State Community Vigilante Security Network and other security agents completed a three-week operation to flush out kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements from the farms and forests in 11 communities in Ovia North East Local Govt Area of Edo State.

Several kidnapped farmers were freed, kidnappers' hideouts destroyed and properties were recovered in the process.

Following the flushing of the criminals, Edo residents have applauded the administration of the Governor of Edo State led by Governor Godwin Obaseki for the proactive measures to enhance security in the state.

According to a resident who spoke to ikosamede.com, Mr Aghedo Monday, "Edo is one of the peaceful States in Nigeria and we thank Governor Obaseki for that. We can all sleep and close our eyes. It is a good development."

Another resident, Joyce Omoruyi, said Edo is experiencing peace due to the foresight of the governor. She thanked the security agencies for working hand in hand with the state government.
