ikosamede.com can confirm that Senator Francis Alimikhena has been declared candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo North Senatorial District.
This is coming after the PDP state chapter wrote to the national leadership for a repeat of the primaries, which the national leadership adhered to by sending an electoral committee to oversee the repeat.
There was therefore an emergency primaries for Edo North Senatorial District today where Senator Barr. Francis Alimekhena scored a total of 181 votes. Hence he has been returned candidate of the People's Democratic Party for Edo North Senatorial District.
Recall that ikosamede.com had earlier reported the emergence of Mrs Victoria Edelokun as the candidate of PDP in Edo North.
With the conclusion of the primaries, Senator Francis Alimekhena is now to replace Mrs Victoria Edelokun as the PDP flag bearer in Edo North Senatorial District.
