BREAKING: PDP, INEC compelled by Court to show cause why candidates that emerged via PDP NWC conducted primaries shouldn't be recognized



ikosamede.com has learnt that the suit No.FHC/ABJ/CS/805/2022 involving Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen & 34 Ors v. INEC & others in an Originating Summons has been heard.

The originating summons prayed in the interim for an ex-parte order compelling the 2nd and 3rd Defendants (PDP and its National Chairman) to:

1. Recognize

2. Accept and/or

3. Forward to the 1st Defendant (INEC) the list of the Plaintiffs who emerged winners in the primary elections conducted on the 22nd and 23rd May 2022.

Recall that the primaries was conducted by the Primary Election Committees set up by the 2nd Defendant's National Working Committee under the leadership of the 3rd Defendant .

The court thereafter ordered the Defendants to within 5 days show cause why all the orders prayed should not be granted, in limine. Interim order granted as prayed. 


Matter was subsequently adjourned to Monday the 4th of July for definite hearing.
