BREAKING: Edo PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi denies dumping Obaseki, reaffirms loyalty to Governor Obaseki

The Edo State People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi has responded to claims on social media stating that he had dumped the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki.

According to a statement he released to newsmen, he stated categorically that the Governor of Edo State has his unflinching loyalty and support.

According to him, "My attention has been drawn to a purported statement from some dissident group saying l have abandoned the Governor of Edo state, Governor Obaseki and chose to pitch tent with Dan Orbih led group."

"It is trite and l shall set the record straight. l was in the company of Senator Engr Clifford Akhimienmona Ordia at the National secretariat where l went to submit the INEC nomination form for the National Assembly candidates, that emerged from the primaries conducted by the various panels sent by the National Headquarters."

He continued, "Arc Mike Onolememen walked into the office where we were being attended to. We exchanged pleasantries and since there was no seat in the room, he walked away. On my way out after being attended to, I obliged his request to take photographs together."

He further stressed that, "As the state chairman of PDP, Edo state, l have tried as much as possible to treat everyone equally and respectfully. I just hope this not taken for granted. I remain loyal to the Governor of the State. He is the Leader of our great party, the PDP."

He added: "Once again, party members and indeed lovers of PDP should disregard the wicked, malicious and totally childish insinuation from the said publication. Ach Michael Onolememen should do better and is expected to do better going forward."
