In the course of the correspondence, it became clear that Edo PDP delegates would not vote in the presidential Primaries simply because of the legal issues that might emanate from such.
The truth is His Excellency Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State performed a Political masterstroke yesterday as he physically met with Atiku Abubakar and told him he was ready to sacrifice the voting power of Edo PDP delegates inorder to assure that the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar is legally free from issues.
If Edo delegates had voted, given the many court cases, the opposition party would have had reasons to challenge the victory of Atiku Abubakar in court and possibly invalidate it.
Recall that Edo PDP under the able leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki had already secured a victory in the Appeal Court that allowed the delegates to vote but for the timely intervention and selflessness of Governor Obaseki, indeed PDP can boasts of having a candidate at the 2023 presidential elections.
With Atiku's victory, the influence of Wike has been greatly whittled down and his stooges like Orbih and Co will indeed soon tell the story. We will leave that story for another day.
This was the reason Edo PDP delegates were not allowed to yesterday.
