JUST IN: Governor Obaseki's status as leader of Edo PDP solidified with success of ward ad-hoc congress

ikosamede.com can report that His Excellency, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has yet again added a feather to his hat as the undisputed leader of the party in the State as the recent ad-hoc congress held across the 192 wards last week was a huge success.

The ad-hoc congress which is meant to elect 3 delegates per ward for both State House of Assembly and National Assembly primaries was conducted in an hitch free and peaceful exercise.

We can confirm that the list which totalled 576 extra delegates has already been sent to the leadership of the PDP at the national level.

A political pundit, Mr Osamudiamen Iyamu who spoke to ikosamede.com said Governor Godwin Obaseki's status as the leader of the party has been strengthened, adding that, indeed, the Governor has surmounted the infighting instigated by some elements in the party.

According to him, "The Governor is the clear winner of the congress held across the State last week. I can confirm to you that without mincing words, he is now the undisputed leader of the party in the State. The final 576 delegates list which has been sent to Abuja can attest to that."

ikosamede.com also learnt that the success of the ad-hoc congress which was in favour of the Governor has put in jeopardy schemes by individuals who instigated the crisis in the party. One of such individuals who was the former Chairman of the party in the state was quoted by a party faithful to be making plans to sabotage the 576 delegates list as he's accustomed to dragging his party to court in situations where he can't have his way.

However, preliminary reports indicate that the delegates list has already been greenlighted by the party leadership in the national level bringing to nought the former chairman's desperation.
