A TALE OF THE EDO STATE CIVIL SERVANT

I am a civil servant. I am grateful to Governor Godwin Obaseki (GGO) for this minimum wage increase. Some States are retrenching Workers, others don't pay full salaries. Some States are owing backlog of Salaries.

Some States pay junior workers 80% and senior workers 50% salary every month. In Edo state, none of that is happening, the Governor even went ahead to increase salary from N18,000 minimum wage to N40,000.

My brother, is this not something to be grateful for? Before Governor Obaseki came our offices were like slums. We break melon and gossip. No light, no conducive office. Today, more than 80 percent of government offices are well furnished with 24/7 air conditioning and free internet services.

Let me also add that before Governor Obaseki came, workers were owed salaries but it was Governor Obaseki that paid us the backlog of salaries.
He didn't say he wasn't the one that owed us, he went ahead to pay. Yes, before Governor Obaseki we were owed 8 to 13 years promotion. Today, Obaseki promotes you as and at when due.

He has approved all Promotion and Edo state is not owing any staff promotion. My brother, are all these not enough to be thankful for?
Come to think of it, we the workers did not fight to get any of of these things, Obaseki just did it for us because it is the right this to do. We didn't go on strike for these things. No struggle. No Aluta.

Make we dey talk true naaa. God Bless you Governor Godwin Obaseki for all the good things you have done for Edo Workers we have never had it so good
