EdoGIS employs 50 new staff to improve efficiency, optimal service delivery

The Edo State Government through the state's skills development agency, Edojobs has recruited over 50 new personnel into the Edo State Geographical Information Service (EDOGIS), in a new drive to ensure efficiency and optimal service delivery at the service.

The recruitment process commenced in February 2021, with over 2000 applicants vying to fill the various positions.

The applicants were screened through different stages, involving both oral and written assessment and interviews.

The new staff include customer service representatives, geometricians, estate surveyors, GIS analysts, land administrators, facility manager, drivers, administrative assistants, legal assistants and accountants, among others.

Managing Director, EdoJobs, Ukinebo Dare, said the exercise was conducted in a transparent manner, with the best selected to provide optimum service to Edo people

According to her, “The newly employed workers underwent an onboarding session in November.

“In years past, before Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration in Edo State, there was a massive job deficit in the state, which had cascading effects on society.

“Youths in the state had taken to irregular migration, thuggery, and other uncharitable acts and vices in the society as the unemployment rate soared. But the governor has changed the narrative.”
