ICON OF THE WEEK: Hon. Ethan Osazemen Uzamere (READ ABOUT HIM)



Ethan Osazemen Uzamere is a seasoned administrator, investment banker and systematic problem solver with over sixteen (16) years experience providing solutions to problems across multiple sectors.

He possesses comprehensive knowledge of key institution success drivers as he has been responsible for strategy, planning and execution, optimising key processes by mitigating financial and technical risks. He has implemented multiple complex and high profile projects in Nigeria and USA in organisations such as Edo State Government, Lehman Brothers, Concord Bank, CitiGroup, SouthGrade Engineering, Woodbury Oil & Gas to name a few.

He brings his unique expertise to bear as former Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant to the Governor of Edo State and a senior member of the Edo State Economic team, driving Public-Private partnerships and reforms that significantly impact economic development.

At the time of his appointment as Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki, he was Nigeria's youngest Chief of Staff to an incumbent Governor, at 38 years of age.

He is politically based in Ovia in Edo South where he engages both the high and lowly irrespective of their backgrounds or social economic status. 

Ethan is known by many as a vibrant and focused youth with the promise of leading the most needed change in Nigeria's political and economic scene. He is intelligent, people oriented, selfless and always occupied with thoughts of changing the status quo of our beloved country. 

He is currently the honorable Commissioner for Oil and Gas, and Mining in the Governor Godwin Obaseki's administration.
