Man conceals ammunition inside shoes in Delta

A 36-year old man identified as Patrick Anthony has been caught with 60 rounds of 7.62mm (AK 47) live ammunition which he concealed inside a pair of canvas.
He was caught by operatives of Dragon Patrol team 29 attached to the Delta State Police Command while on stop and search duty alomg Warri-Sapele road in Effurun.
The operatives intercepted a silver coloured commuter Toyota Picnic space bus with registration number LSD 324 DO heading from Warri to Sapele.
Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bright Edafe who confirmed the incident, said when the bus was searched, the ammunition was recovered from one of the passengers, Anthony.
Edafe also confirmed the arrest of seven suspected cultists with one locally made short gun, one battle axe, cutlass, knife and charms, during a raid by operatives of the Special Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state.
He also said four suspects including two ladies and two men were arrested during a raid of black spots in Abraka, a university town in Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Edafe who gave the names of the suspects as Blessing Oghule (f), Nweke Abudi (f), Ebuka Paul (m) and Sunday Inuse (m), added that one english berreta pistol with five live 9mm ammunition, five suspected stolen phones, one hand bag containing weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, one nylon bag containing substances suspected to be ice and ten wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine were recovered from Blessing Oghule.
The police image maker noted that all the cases were under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to court.
