The Federal Government’s decision to relax the prohibition on the usage of Twitter in Nigeria has prompted a response from the social media behemoth.

According to Reuters, a Twitter spokeswoman said, “We recently talked with the Nigerian authorities to discuss why Twitter has been blocked and methods to fix the situation.”

“Our goal is to pave the way for everyone in Nigeria to have access to Twitter again. We anticipate further conversations with the Nigerian authorities and the restoration of service as soon as possible.”.

This came after Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed announced that the government would abolish the Twitter ban in a matter of days..

The state of the talks with the social media giant had reached an amiable level, according to Mohammed, who addressed State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
